A Torch of Love

How I’ve carried a torch for you A way out of the darkness, finding love When you are much more than enough Fearing you might be too much But I’m sure you want the truth

The light I have seen in you Is greater than any torch I bear And I know you’re still there That is why I love you

For so long I have carried this fire Through the storms, the wind and the rain Slings and arrows, plenty of pain And how I am going insane Wanting you, my one desire

Your fire has burned me Yet I still reach out How can I be without? I do believe, it’s destiny

Holding on, the touch the feel How hard it’s been and all alone Getting older, these old bones But it’s all I’ve ever known The touch of wood, the feel of steel

Yet the touch of you I believe so warm and soft Lighter still, gets me off If only you would love me too

Instead this torch high off the floor Until you love or until I don’t love you anymore
