One Of My Brothers Has Fallen

Earlier this week a hostage situation ensued at a Delaware State prison. The inmates in a particular building of the prison took 4 employees hostage. One of the officers was a female that had injuries that were not life threatening. She will be fine physically, but not emotionally. Another hostage did not make it out alive. His name is Sgt. Steven Floyd. Apparently, when the disturbance began, he yelled to the officers coming in to help him to stay away that it was a trap. He saved others' lives, but his was not spared.

Inmates are not victims. These particular cowards blamed Donald Trump for their actions. Are you fucking kidding me? How has Trump contributed to their incarceration? He hasn't. These cowards killed an innocent man because they are cowards and needed a scapegoat for their criminal behavior.

To add insult to injury, the media didn't deem this situation to be more important than some privileged rich celebrity being pregnant. They also thought that a domestic feud between a faux celeb and her ex husband to be more important than 4 correction officers being held hostage by criminals.

I say to any of you the same thing that Sheriff Clark said when some of his officers were gunned down by a coward, " come on inside and fill out an application because we are hiring". Prisons are understaffed for a reason. Too many people are afraid that they won't go home every day after work. You should be scared. These cowards want to kill you and your family just because they can.

Unless you have ACTUALLY worked inside a prison, you don't get to have an opinion about the inmates or the staff that work there. So many hate mongers on the internet saying they were glad that an officer was killed. Hate mongers trying to incite inmates in other prisons to riot. Again, inmates are NOT the victims.

FYI, Sgt. Floyd was black and more than likely killed by black inmates. Anyone want to protest or destroy other people's property? No? Why not? I thought black lives matter?

This is for the HR people that actually tell the truth. What does the following mean, really?

I had an interview for a specific position. At the end of the interview one of the interviewers followed me out and said that they would be making a decision by the end of the week. (I've heard this shit before) He then begins to explain that if this doesn't work out that I should keep watching their website because there will be two other positions being posted soon that I can apply to.

I'm taking this as, "hey, you are not getting hired so here's another carrot to dangle above your head".

I'm actually over qualified for all of their positions except for the top two positions with this employer. I applied because it is an area I excel at and find interesting. What a shame I'm not a competitive type or such a narcissist to toot my own horn about how fantastic I am. I'm assuming that is what people are looking for these days. It's like Facebook, you're not a worthy person unless you're a selfish narcissist posting selfies all over the fucking place.

I make sure interviewers get it that I'm a professional that maintains a low profile and remains calm cool and collected. Shouldn't that be more important, mature and professional?

FBI Behavior Expert Says.....

There are 7 ways to get people to like you, according to an FBI Behavior Expert.

The 7 ways are as follows:

-Seek someone else's opinions and thoughts without judging them.
-Suspend your ego to make people love you. Focus on them.
-Be a good listener
-Ask questions about the other person's challenges.
-Make strangers feel at ease.
-Promote your best body language for building rapport.
-Don't be hostile, but be direct with people you don't trust.

Sounds reasonable, but for sociopaths this could be a playbook for manipulating others. This could be useful in the dating arena. Most of this is what relationship experts tell people anyway.

I definitely don't have these mastered. Pretty much why most of the people I encounter don't like me.

The Tests

I'm pretty sure most people hate to be tested or to take any kind of test. Every day we get tested in ways that we don't want to be tested. An example is when an idiot driver thinks that I will get out of the way while he tries to run me out of my lane that I clearly am in legally. Think again inbreeder. You better stay in your own lane. Not my fault you didn't get in the correct lane to begin with. Then this schmuck decides that he is going to speed up, get in front of me and then slow down. This is why accidents happen. So I just get into a different lane and speed up and get in front of him, but I don't slow down. I just keep going because I don't want to be around stupidity like that. It might be contagious.

All this after I just came from taking a test. I spent an hour driving in Farm Show traffic to take a test for a Federal Govt job. Then spend an hour staring at a computer screen looking at security xrays. Now I have to navigate all this stupidity on the roads after taking the test. Its too many tests!

We need commuter trains here in PA so I don't have to deal with these morons on the road. Hell, if we had commuter trains I could get a job somewhere outside of this fucking bubble. I would like just once to have encounters with normal intelligent people. I know they are out there hiding. Its like the lunatic fringe. We all know you're out there, in hiding.

So many tests every day....testing someone's sanity, patience and intelligence all at the same time is kinda rough.

I have 7 messages that I cannot find in any folder. So I sent a question to the admins here for an answer. I'm thinking I will get some convoluted answer and still won't be able to find which folder these messages are in or even read them.

I'm so glad I don't pay for this site.

Revamp TV

I would like to revamp TV. Instead of channels that air a collection of shows and news, just do what Court TV and CNN did years ago. Court TV was court stuff 24/7. CNN is news 24/7. So I would like to suggest channels like the following: Seinfeld Channel, Breaking Bad Channel, All In The Family Channel, etc. I think you get what I'm suggesting here. Not saying that it is a good idea, but a possibility.

Hey, this is better than what some of you come up with.

Self Correcting Universe

The other day I went to a job interview and knew as soon as the interviewer approached me that this was a no go. He had that look on his face like he didn't want to do the interview in the first place. Of course that meant that my body language and facial expressions changed immediately. Then on the drive home I mulled it over in my mind as to whether or not I would want to work for someone who comes to an interview like that. The answer is emphatically, NO.

Today I get a voicemail from a company that I applied to over a month ago. I tried calling the woman back but every time I called, they kept hanging up on me. I don't think there is anything wrong with my phone, maybe something wrong with theirs.

Then I started thinking about a TV Show I watched yesterday. One of the characters was talking about how the universe is always trying to self correct. So I thought if that is a thing then maybe the universe is saying I shouldn't work for these people. The universe is trying to self correct. Well, the universe needs to let me know so I don't get so frustrated. If I could choke someone's ass out right now, I would.

I have suffered from Plantar Fasciitis in my left foot now for about 7 years. Over the past 7 years I have seen 3 Podiatrists that have done nothing for me. I have spent thousands of dollars on shoes, inserts, over the counter pain meds, prescription meds, physical therapy, kinesiology tape and athletic tape. I've done all the stretching exercises and anything else i thought would help alleviate the pain. I also have a bone spur on the top of my foot which inflames the flexor.

I've been doing some research on sneakers and shoes specifically designed for plantar fasciitis. After about a year of doing research, I decided to purchase a pair of sneakers from a company called KURU. The sneakers cost about $120, which is about the cost of other brands that don't do anything but hurt my feet.

OMFG!!!!! I just received them today and have been wearing them for a couple of hours. The second I put them on I was fucking wowed! The pain instantly gone. These sneakers are a perfect fit and do not aggravate my issue at all. I love them. The true test will come when I go to the gym and workout with them on. If the pain stays away, I'm definitely getting another pair. By the way, I bought them with the Christmas money my mother gave me. So when I call her to check in on her i will tell her this is the best Christmas present I ever got!

Happy Fucking New Year To Me!

I was reading some articles on LinkedIn about the unemployment statistics. It is not important whether i agree with the article's point of view or not. What is most interesting is the comments people make at the end of the articles.

Holy mother of God! People are so judgmental and mean over the dumbest shit. You do not have to agree, but be respectful of others opinions. If you don't like the article move on. If you don't like the comments others have made, move on. One guy was calling everyone that didn't see things his way "hordes of ignorant people". They are not ignorant by any means, as far as I could tell, most knew way more than the author of the article. I just asked a simple question and got a passive aggressive response. WTF? Forgive me for having an inquiring mind. I know, I know I'm a woman who should just keep her fucking mouth shut so the men folk can sort things out or fuck it up. Either way, my bad!

The negative, aggressive, and oppressive bullshit is spread everywhere I turn. Maybe the mother ship will come soon and take me back.

There are no more nice people. All my life I have been branded as a bitch and I barely speak to anyone. How can one be a bitch if you never interact with anyone? I don't get it. If I did talk to some of the people that I have had to endure in my lifetime, I could have them all questioning if suicide wouldn't have been a better choice for them instead of poking me.

You can't come at me with your bullshit and then be surprised when I actually have negative feelings toward you.

Do all your mothers drop you on your head? Did you all eat lead paint as a ? WTF? What exactly is it that I do to garner such hatred and nastiness? Oh that's right, I exist.

Here's a question we have all been asking since the real estate bubble burst. Is the American Retailer dead? Specifically, the brick and mortar establishments?

Every few weeks there are news stories circulated that this store or that store are closing more sites. Walmart is set to close a number of those smaller specialty stores that didn't work for them. Sears is closing more stores and actually lost money during the holiday shopping time period. Macy's is set to close more stores. I live here in Hanover, PA and the mall is no longer a mall anymore. There are only a handful of stores left in that monstrosity of a building.

Many years ago there was to be a Boscov's store open in that mall but Boscov's ran into some major money problems. Jcpenney now occupies that slot in the mall. So many stores have closed and so many companies just don't even exist anymore. Speaking of Jcpenney, they did a major turn around when this new CEO came on board. It wasn't instant but they are doing better than most.

Everyone shops online now. So how difficult is it to get the clothes you want and purchase the correct size. Not all sizes are created equal across brands. Women can definitely attest to that. I just recently purchased a special pair of sneakers online and I hope they fit. I prefer to try on shoes before I buy them because I have Plantar Fasciitis in my left foot. I can't wear just anything at all. Returning things bought online is such a pain in the ass.

The American retailer is dying, if it isn't already dead. Most places online are actually selling knock offs of major brands. Bet you didn't know that. Amazon in particular has been at the end of a brutal accusation about their third party sellers. Third party sellers basically sell knock offs from China. Undermines everything about the American Retailer. I am very cautious when purchasing something from Amazon.

I don't like purchasing anything from EBAY either. They have a lot of people claiming to sell quality items from top name brands. Yeah right! Ever wonder why it takes so long to get your purchase in the mail? Comes from China! Takes time to get through customs.

I'm hoping that the American Retailer isn't just about Starbucks and Cinnabon.

Netflix Originals

When Netflix first started, I had a subscription to stream and get DVDs. But I grew weary of getting broken DVDs in the mail and not having much of a selection to choose from for streaming. Then I had a little financial setback and needed to curb some unnecessary luxuries from my budget. So I cancelled my subscription to Netflix. Years later, I decided to just get the streaming service which is about $8 a month. Not too bad.

This time around I found that a lot of shows I liked that had run their course were available for streaming including Original programming that Netflix had started. I have not looked back since.

Some of the original programming is far better than anything on Network TV including some of the premium channels like HBO and Showtime. Speaking of HBO, they set the bar up high when they released The Sopranos and everyone else followed suit. Now you have HBO, Showtime, Stars, Cinemax, Hulu, Amazon and Netflix all creating original programming that is far better than what ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX spew out season after season.

I bring this up because I just binged a Netflix original yesterday. It is called The OA and they are releasing a Sense8 special on Dec. 23rd. If you like shows that are more imaginative and cerebral, then Netflix Originals are for you.

Obviously, not every single series is good and everyone has their own tastes. But shows like Black Mirror and Sense8 really make you rethink just how complex a human being can be in relation to others. Nothing is really linear.

Netflix did a series called House of Cards. This is billed as a political thriller. The main character, Frank Underwood, stops and talks to the camera (you), to tell you what is really going on. TV shows never do this, but this show made it a part of the story. Underwood is incorporating you into the fabric of the story. Then Showtime came out with House of Lies and copied the same idea. How ingenious!

Netflix has set a new height for the bar that HBO started way back when. This is good because now we can get access to better programs that are more creative and cerebral than anything the networks can put out. This is probably why the networks have been struggling for so long. HBO set it off with the Sopranos and that idea of creating shows without restricting the creative process is going to do in the networks if they don't step up to the plate.

The days of quality groundbreaking television from the networks is over. Of course, this is just my opinion from someone who like to annoy people.
